Hip Hop ledged and Queens New York native Nas has officially titled his album new “NIGGER” and yes you read it right. Of course the title is what the media and several civil right activist are talking about but and how this particular racial epithet will bring African Americans down as a culture and even fellow Queens rapper 50 cent told mtv news “why would you name ya album that?” My thing is I support the man Nas he has always been controversial when it came to politics and his social beliefs of how the black women should act like a queen 1st while other rapper sad ”fuck bitches” and most recently how hip hop is dead.

To me Nas music is timeless and each album speaks to that particular hip hop culture for that that year such on his last album “hip is dead” which raised eyebrows and in my opinion motivated other rapper to step their lyrical game up just a touch. Maybe this album will make America and the rest of the world see that the word “NIGGER” does not define black peoples intelligence, talents, financial and spiritual wealth, because of one or any other negative and ignorant racial slurs that will apparently never diminish no matter how much Jess Jackson gets upset at rappers or how many times we march to Louisiana or where ever.

The King in Jail?

Well as many of you may or may not know Atl's own T.I. or T.I.P. which ever one he was that day was arrested in a shopping center on the south side while attempting to purchase a illegal firearm even though he is a convicted felon(crack sells and other gun charges from back in the day)knowing that is absolutely illegal to even attempt to purchase a firearm. The crazy part about this story is T.I. was allegedly set up by his body guard and the Atlanta Police and what makes matters worse is the King could be facing real jail time...wow! and the way these judges are treating celebrates now who knows if he is really going to jail at least I hope not.

Even though I have never meet TIP I feel for my dude because for one he is a rapper and two a ATL native so if anyone has to support him I think it should be the citizen of Atlanta and all hiss fans across the world. Along the ones who buy the bootleg mixtapes form the metro mall downtown. But I did meet his fellow PSC member AK when I was working at the old location of Addikt Workshop this summer and he was a real dude we talked for a half hour about the old ATL vs. the new ATL and he was very pro the new look of Atlanta. So with that being said we have change our lifestyles people once reach the public eye and that goes for being the biggest party promoter in the city or the guy who raps and openly sells weed for a living, because the streets are watch and cats are dry snitching fast!

Trendsetter or just Trendy?

Real talk sometime i wonder if celebrities are really the big trendsetters that many clamed and even self proclaim themselves as so. In the Hip Hop community many people would say Kanye is lying ego maniac poser, who is told what to wear by his stylist and what to rap about by his ghost writer Consequence. Needless Clebs and their assistants do go on our blog read our magazines and then recycle our looks form two summers ago and clam it as their own, remember they look up to us so please restrain form posting pictures of them on myspace and in your room as tastemakers and integrators. p.s. dont get it twisted kelis does her thing but this is not my fav look by her.

This morning i found some photos of MISSONI fall/spring & Gucci fall/winter collection for 2007. Gucci did a great job with the great blazers, fitted slacks, with great luggue pieces as well.Missoni look for the fall is classic with a Ralph Lauren twist of bold colors to make the outfit pop more.

Album of the week

Two Thursdays ago I meet up with my boy Dreamer downtown ova by Atlantic station where he handed me his posters to put up around the city(somebody ripped them down in the west end, I think cuz its a white girl on the poster..lol)and his new self titled album Dreamer. The packaging and artwork was sponsored by perishable fame and is extremely impressive, hell even better then most signed artist at best buy or fye. The album reminds me of the old ATL with the Miami bass vibe on my favorite songs SHE’S A KEEPER and SCREAMIN ON THE DANCE FLOOR. My boy dreamer really did his thing on this album and represented Atlanta and our generation in away that few artist from the A have been able to do since the pioneers Outkast and the entire Dungeon Family.
